CHAPTER SIX - Practical Applications

It has not been uncommon in the past for us to hear different thoughts and teachings on end time events. It has been noted with interest that the subject most likely to stir up prejudicial emotions is that of end time events. As if all of our displayed emotions will have any outcome on how things will unfold!

Some folks have advocated seclusion and the storing up of weapons and supplies. The rejoinder to this stance given by folks on the "other side" of the issue actually sounds rather amusing. They refer to the first bunch as those who will be hiding in caves eating "tribulation food".

On the other hand, the people who teach that the "Rapture" will occur before the "Great Tribulation", are often acused of "escapism". Their most common reply is, "Well, you can stay if you want to but I'm going up on the "first load".

Let's face it. We don't have all of the answers. It is our responsibility to be available to God's direction. He'll supply the answers as they are needed.

If it turns out that God should direct you to store up provisions, you had better be ready to give it all away as God directs you. This is more in keeping with the kind of life to which we have been called.

If your conviction is that you will be "raptured" out before any tough times occur, you should purpose to spend all your available time as God directs. This will likely include winning the lost and strengthening fellow believers.

OUR BATTLE IS NOT WITH OTHER PEOPLE

Remember what is found in Ephesians 6:12, "we do not war against flesh and blood but against powers and principalities and the rulers of the darkness of this age. Against the spiritual host of wickedness in the heavenly places."

President George W. Bush was correct when he said,"We are battling evil. If you want to help - do something good for someone else."

The bottom line is that we need to remain completely availble to whatever God directs us to do.
