GOD IS NOT JUST LOVE

Just as the wind blows and cannot be seen,
God speaks to people and He is not heard.
When something is blown, then we see where the wind has been.
When a Christian listens, God will confirm His Word.

How does the wind blow? By what forces great or small?
How does God speak? Through sound, situations or with a special call?

Are there only mighty gusts of thundering sound?
Cannot a breeze, like a whisper, be detected by all those around?

Some would say that God does not speak anymore.
Then how are pastors called and missionaries sent to the distant shore?

To husbands, Jesus has spoken with a precious and delicate gift.
He has given you a wife as a picture of His Bride.
Someone to strengthen and give your spirit a lift.
He has elevated the Church to sit at His side.

Jesus purchased the Church. He gave all that He had.
The husband is commanded to do no less.
Salvation is more than a gimmick or passing fad.
Marriage is living out what we choose to confess.

Father, I thank you for my wife.
Oh, how she has truly enhanced my life.

Then, Holy Spirit gently speaks to my heart.
With God, up is down, first is last and to give is to receive.
We have to be careful to not get the horse after the cart.
Faith is more than just being willing to believe.

To be reborn is to know God, but not just to know him.
To prosper is to receive from God, but not just to receive.

To trust God is to believe Him, but not just to believe.
To be a husband is to be married, but not just to be married.

To be a husband is to learn to give, but not just to give.
To be a husband is to learn to love, but not just to love.

As Holy Spirit gently leads me into God's school of life,
He adjusts His microscope and shows me the fabric of my life.

Here, where I learned to tell the truth, deceit still hides within.
There, where I learned to give, selfishness still has control.
Learning to die to self-means that only when I lose can I hope to win.
As I step out, I realize there's more to life than having my name on the roll.

Now, Father in an act of love, I give my wife to you.
I know that you desire the best for her.
As a godly husband, I must learn to function just as you do.
My gift is more than gold, frankincense and myrrh.
I'm allowing you to operate through me. This way I'll provide the very best for her.
Now, I know that she'll be all that you desire for her to be. It is my function to not just
be married, but to be married.

As your holy vessel, to live is not just to live, but to live! Indeed, now I have learned
not just to love, but to love!
