SETTING
My name is John Lounsberry and I would like to give you a little of my background if I may.My wife, Joan and I have been married for thirty nine years and have been blessed with three children and ten grandchildren.
We have spent the major portion of our married life working with churches and Christian schools. One major thing that we have attempted to adhere to is that of not compromising our principles.
It is with both a sense of awe as well as excitement that I share with you what God has been speaking to us about the coming Spiritual Awakening.It begins with a dream......
MY DREAM
My dream occurred in the latter part of December of 2001.Even though it didn't last very long, it was very vivid.I saw a streak of light that seemed to me to be the indication of a missile hitting in the area of refineries and petrochemical plants in Southwest Louisiana. This was my first conclusion.
However, after further thought, I realized that I did not actually see a missile. Rather, what I saw was a streak of light that was marking the passage of something.
My immediate realization was that this incident was signaling a calamity of some sort that would be focused in the Westlake, Louisiana area.
THE SECOND DREAM
Gene Winkler, the pastor of New Covenant Fellowship, experienced the second dream. It is with this fellowship that my wife Joan and I worship.
In his own words, this is Gene's dream from the first part of January, 2002.
"There were at least three of us in the car, Jena, my wife, Lindy, and myself. There may have been others in the car but the three of us were there for sure."
"We were in Westlake, seemingly at the south end of Guillory Street. It was approaching evening, with the appearance of dusk. Lindy, then commented that the moon was rising.
At that time, everything began to speed up. It was almost as if we were experiencing a "fast - forward" movement of not only the rising of the "moon" but the total passage of time as well."
"It was getting lighter outside but not as bright as the day would be. Rather quickly we saw that it was not the moon that we saw but what appeared to be a meteor." The object seemed to hit somewhere in the vicinity of Westlake High School but out of our sight.
We then saw what looked similar to a boulder that was about twenty feet in diameter. This object was not perfectly round but had distinct sides for it's outward shape."
"The first boulder that we saw was not rolling toward us but was going in more of a westerly direction. Then, I saw another object coming straight toward us. This too, had the general appearance of a boulder. I would like to mention that the "meteor" that we saw was much larger than either of these two subsequent objects that were each approximately twenty feet in diameter."
"The second object rolled up on the top of our car. Because I was concerned about the roof caving in, I found myself with my hands over my head pressing upward on the roof of the car. The object remained on the roof for just an instant and then began to roll toward the front of the car."
"Seeing this, my first reaction was that it would break the windshield. Then, I saw that there was no windshield. The glass was completely gone! As the "boulder" continued to roll toward the front of the car, it changed shape and composition. It was now made up of huge insect - like creatures. They were black in color with large teeth. Not fangs but large teeth."
"I tried to shield us from these demonic creatures with my forearm and was able to push one of them away. Then another demon latched onto my thumb with its teeth. I was instantly aware that I felt no pain."
"It was at this point that I began to try to rebuke the creatures. My actions seemed to be taking on the characteristics of being in a dream. In fact, I found it extremely difficult to say the name of Jesus. Once I was able to verbalize the rebuke, the demons immediately fled."
New Covenant Fellowship was founded as a home church in 1993. The Winklers felt that God specifically directed them back to Westlake, Louisiana. They were further aware of God's direction to do all that they could to have a positive influence on other area churches as well as the local government and schools.
Even though the number of families in the fellowship has remained few in number, there have been some ways in which the local area has been affected. The following accomplishments are given briefly to clarify what God has called New Covenant to.
The fellowship has been instrumental in the following areas:
There has been an awareness by "the fellowship" that God was going to be doing something of significance in Westlake, Louisiana. It was understood that their role was to help facilitate what God would be doing. It was further known that they would often not be in the "limelight" but would be there to help other churches and individuals fulfill their destinies.
It is understood by some that there are geographical areas here on earth where there are stronger concentrations of satanic influence. Also, there are areas where the presence of God seems to be more easily felt. These places with a tenderness toward God have been referred to as Gates of Heaven. It is in these locations where we can expect the next moves of God to first be felt.
Interestingly enough, Westlake, Louisiana seems to be a combination of the two. While there are casinos in nearby areas, there are none inside the city limits of Westlake.In response to the pleas of church leaders, the city chose not to allow a local riverboat casino to locate inside the city limits.
New Covenant Fellowship's mission given by God is to help to usher in the next "mighty move of God" for this area.
